Experiences Launch
Helped bring a founder-led product vision to launch, building booking, itinerary, and travel assistant features for Airbnb Experiences.
Airbnb Experiences launched in 2016, giving travelers a way to discover cities through activities hosted by local experts.
I was one of 12 engineers on the founding launch team that brought the product to market. I helped build core parts of the Experiences booking flow and the My Trip itinerary, and later pitched and developed an on-trip smart travel assistant in close collaboration with CEO Brian Chesky. The feature was showcased by Brian during Airbnb's official launch event in Los Angeles.
As launch approached, I helped prepare Experiences for one of Airbnb's highest-profile product releases. After launch, I focused on scaling the trip itinerary ingestion pipeline and building contextual recommendations that surfaced relevant information throughout a guest's journey.
